Sitting down to create our most exclusive piqué polo, the Commuter Polo, we started at the fiber level using durable yet soft fine long-staple cotton. After having spun the fine OEKO-TEX 100 certified cotton yarns, they are mercerized. It’s a process that strengthens the yarn and gives it a lustrous, shiny appearance, while also increasing the color constancy of the fabric. In order to further enhance the smoothness, the mercerized yarn is gassed very quickly using a hot flame. This is to remove any access fuzz or lint on the thread. Thereafter the yarns are knitted into a 60/2 (2-ply) piqué knit at a light and comfortable 190 g/m2, which is crafted into the final garment. A sophisticated and subtle piqué polo with a smooth hand-feel and tonal buttons.
